About BBMAC:

Introduction

The Bakony-Balaton Mechatronics and Automotive Cluster has been operating since 2007 in Hungary. Its mission is to strengthen cooperation among companies active in the automotive, machinery, metal, plastics, electronics, and defense industries in the Central Transdanubian Region (North-West Hungary). The cluster promotes joint development initiatives, the establishment of supplier networks, and innovation-driven investments, thereby contributing to the economic growth of the region.

Operation

The operation of the cluster is based on partnership among its members, the exchange of professional expertise, the support of R&D activities, and participation in regional and international projects. The cluster’s strategic objectives and practical operations are governed by the founding documents approved by its members.

Events

One of the cluster’s key objectives is to enhance partnerships between SMEs and large enterprises, showcase the latest industry and digitalization technologies and processes, and foster business development among its members. To achieve this, the cluster continuously organizes business meetings, workshops, plant visits, and benchmarking events, while also coordinating the identification and implementation of best practices.

Projects

In order to achieve its operational objectives, the cluster also participates in various funded projects. Grant-supported projects implemented by the management organizations support the cluster’s operational activities, the organization of professional programs, and the promotion of joint investments among members.

Members

Members of the Bakony‑Balaton Mechatronics and Automotive Cluster are leading industrial actors in the region, representing the automotive, mechanical engineering, electronics, metalworking, plastics, and defense industries. The cluster includes both innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and large, market-leading industrial companies.

Management

The operational management of the cluster is carried out by the Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Veszprém and VVI Veszprém City Developmentand Innovation Ltd. These organizations ensure cluster administration, coordination among members, and the organization of joint programs and projects.
